ENTERING INTO PRAYER

I have seen people jump into  prayer as though it is an end itself
and not a means to an end. They  forget that the sacrifice of the
wicked man is an abomination to  the Lord.
“The sacrifice of the wicked is an  abomination to the Lord : but the
prayer of the upright is his delight.” – Prov 15:8 (KJV)
We have taken prayer as a  programme; an event, something we go in
and out of, whereas it was  supposed to be continuous, a  ceaseless
attitude – a way of life.  Prayer is a sacrifice that should
continually be offered without  ceasing to God.
Some go as far as paying people to pray for them! What ridiculous
nonsense! I call it nonsense  because God does not answer to  paid
“But they get results!” you say?
Don’t native doctors get results?  You might as well go pay a native
doctor in pastoral garb to pray for  you. You will get results but it
will  not last! Because it s not founded  on the Truth. God desires
every  individual child of His to come to  Him personally.
I ought to have every boldness to  go to my Father and ask without
sending an emissary or proxy.  Except of course, if something is
wrong with my relationship with  Him!
The Temple curtain has been parted in  two, the barricade into His
presence has been removed, and  now He demands that we come  boldly to
Him through only one  person – the Man Jesus Christ  whom He expects
us to be like; but many refuse; yet come to Him with  requests!
Disobedience has many  faces!
Let us learn to obey Him before making request in prayers. Obedience
is the key to answered prayers and “eating of the good of the land.”
“If ye are willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”
(Isaiah 1:19).
